Punk Art Logo

Punk Art was established in 2007 as a concept by Jennie Russell-Smith and now features over 30 artists, the biggest art exhibition influenced by punks. The mediums on display represent a wide range of ideas and creative minds, anything from oils to pencils, needlework to stained glass, plaster casting to collage, portraits to abstract, cartoons to fine art, rugs to riches, photographs and much more, demonstrating the endless talent on show.

A number of our exhibitors have been with us since the beginning (many at Rebellion before Punk Art was founded), but new members are always welcome to the Punk Art family, each year it presents someone and something different.

Our artists come from all round the UK, some from abroad, some have exhibited elsewhere, many have had their work endorsed by bands for official artwork, whilst others are in bands themselves.

Regular contributors include Charlie Harper, Gaye Advert, Knox and Dick Lucas, we have also recently had Captain Sensible show an interest in exhibiting (his artwork that is).

The preparation starts in earnest the year before, checking who from the current list will be exhibiting next year, bringing on board new artists (for which there's a waiting list), drawing up various lists, acquiring information for the art programme and of course setting-up the Excel spread-sheets!

2023 - BACK TO THE CONFERENCE CENTRE

The Blackpool Conference and Exhibition Centre is a brand new, purpose built events venue. It is the first major building development to happen on the Winter Gardens complex since the construction of the Opera House in 1939.

The new building is one of the largest venues of its kind in the north of England. It is split over two floors, with an exhibition space on first floor and a conference space with a capacity of 2000 on the second floor.

With a total 2400 square metres of dedicated space, we're really looking forward to returning there with Punk Art and our fringe events for 2023
